It’s been a hot minute since I have posted because we spent several weeks in Texas, and there really isn’t all that much to do in Texas. We purposely stayed put for several weeks because we were in need of some grounding and centering after being on the move for 5 months straight. Which means I don’t have a lot of fun updates to share.
We chose Texas because our business coaching group is located in there so we have community and friends there. When we are Minnesota we meet with them virtually but there is defintely something about being in the same city and space to really get yourself immersed in a culture.
We spent a couple weeks about an hour and a half outside of Dallas in a city called Bridgeport and had so much fun those two weeks. We met several other families that traveled full time and had kids right around our kids ages. It was like a mini break for all the parents that have been cooped up in an RV with a bunch of kids because they had a fabulous club house and park and TONS of room for kids to run.
Then we moved closer into the Dallas area because we were driving back and forth so much. The park we moved to was clean and nice, but it did not have any of the amenities that made the park in Bridgeport so great. We were home sick and had some drama in one of our businesses that needed to be dealt with so we packed up a couple weeks earlier than we had orginally planned and came back to Minnesota for the holidays. It sure is great to see everyone however yesterday we had a snowstorm and today it was -8 when I went to the gym. (so we don’t have any plans to move back any time soon.) I also feel like the Lord has not told us we are done yet, so no matter how homesick we are feeling we are going to continue to travel.
Since being back in Minnesota the kids got to go back their homeschool co-op for a week and a half before break. That was good for them and Dad who loves teaching them, AND also needed a break. We are staying with our dear friends the Wright’s who have opened up their home to us, and then we have been bouncing around and staying with family and friends for a few days each. It has been really good for all of us to get some quality time with loved ones.
Highlights of being home so far:
Parents vs. Kids laser tag with all the families at our homeschool. I’ll let you guess who won by the victory photo. We are working on some plans to continue to grow the school when we return and my kids attend the actual school instead of the remote student plan we are on this year.
Cup of Christmas. I have attended a women’s bible study for a few years at New Life Church. Although we aren’t members there I love there women’s ministry program and have made some really good friends there. They host an annual Women’s Night with a Christmas program and this year I got to bring my friend Kristy. It was a fun girls night out. (That was much more tame than my younger years. )
Family Time: We got to hang with all the Bayer nephews. Which is always fun AND really loud. Those Bayer’s sure do have loud wind pipes. Like. Every. Single. One…
I have no pictures of this because they never can sit still long enough for me to get a non blurry picture.
We got to spend some time with our other good friends the Lefflers. Our families all meld together well and the kids have a blast together.
We also anxiously await the arrival of our newest neice or nephew who is currently 5 days overdue. My sis in law is a champ though and hanging in there as best she can. We cannot meet you little one…and we are thrilled to be in town when it happens…
We look forward to spending Christmas with both of our families and then getting back to warmer weather.
We will be in Minnesota until at least the first week in January. Then we will head back to Texas where our RV is parked in storage and go from there. Texas hasn’t been all the warm so unless it gets it’s act together we may ditch it for Florida or Arizona. We don’t even know…..
